1/3/2020: I think I can say that my modular kit, or at least the first attempt at it, is done!
I spent the day adding the last few pieces to the build: I had to make a few new pieces from scratch, in order to link the window to the roof and to fill the cavity beneath it, as well as to create the chimney. However, I think modelling wise, the shop itself is done! Here's a picture:
With a comparison to the original blockout: its pretty cool to me how much has changed while still remaining similar.
And lastly, the building compared to the kit.
The pieces floating off to the side are all the single pieces that I used in the build, usually just by duplicating and rotating them. The next step is going to be UV mapping all the pieces in build, stacking the UVs so they look the same, and making a decent tiling texture. I also intend to create pipes, chimneys and cogs to bring in the steampunk look, but I'm not entirely sure how I'd place them; for now, then, I'll leave it as is and I'll make some sketches as to how to proceed.
This magical clock shop is counting down to completion, and I think it's going to be good!
